Tony Miles

Tony Miles was a bowls member since 2021. He passed away from pulmonary fibrosis which had progressed since new year. He was a private person and spoke little of his life. His funeral was well attended by family and friends. Tony was born in Rutland and the family moved to Devon and Gloucestershire. He started work at the National Provincial Bank and then moved to B.O.A.C. / B.A. for 27 years as air crew ending as bursar in first class. He was a dedicated fly fisherman since the 50s, as those of us fortunate to receive a trout from Syon Park can attest. He enjoyed cultivating chrysanthemums and bowling at Esher Bowls Club (he retained Esher stickers on his bowls), where I understand he had won trophies. Tony joined in our winter snooker and Monday & Wednesday roll-ups.
